According to letters sent home to parents, “two stranger danger incidents” occurred on Tuesday, 09 August 2016, on campus at Kapolei High School and off campus at Campbell High School.
In the Campbell incident, a student told police a man in a silver car pulled up next to him and said his mother was in the hospital and he needed to get into the car. The student ran off and his family called police.
The Kapolei High School incident happened near the school gym where a man asked a girl for directions and wanted a tour of the school campus. The man grabbed the girl, but she broke free and ran for help.
According to the DOE, both students did the right thing by running away and telling a trusted adult about the incident. Please advise your children not to talk to strangers, run away, and get help. There are some very sick people in this world.
