KHON2 spoke with a manager at a local store Saturday and he said they have not been notified of a closure.

It’s the end of the road for the Sports Authority.  Attorneys for the company told a U.S. Bankruptcy Court that Chapter 11 will not save the company, which has now incurred over $1 billion in debt.

Attorneys say the only recourse is to sell the company and “close down in the months ahead.”  All 450 stores will be shutting down, including 8 stores in Hawaii.  A timetable for the shut down hasn’t been released.
