The Honolulu Board of Water Supply is trying to repair a large sinkhole in the Windward Oahu community of Punalu’u. The sinkhole has grown with the addition of water from Tropical Storm Darby.
The growing sinkhole has affected about a dozen customers in the area. Business owner Claire Lager told KHON 2 News that the hole has grown to a 5-foot-wide, 15 to 20-foot long trench.
Clean up efforts continue on Oahu, which apparently got most of the damaging rain and winds from Tropical Storm Darby.
