Genki Sushi restaurants on Kauai and Oahu have reopened after being closed for nearly a month by the Hawaii Department of Health during the Hepatitis A outbreak.

Health officials identified raw scallops served at a Genki Sushi restaurant as the source of Hepatitis A that has sickened 252 people.

Genki Sushi has been working with DOH officials to meet stringent new requirements before it could serve food again.  The new requirements include mandatory personal/health hygiene training, making sure all employees test negative for hepatitis A, and completely sanitizing all locations.
