Congratulations to Washington Middle School teacher Sung Man Park, who was named Hawaii’s 2017 state teacher of the year at a ceremony at Washington Place. Park says teaching “is the greatest and most honorable job because you can change other people’s lives.” Park will represent Hawaii in the National Teacher of the Year Program being held in Washington, D.C.
In addition to Park, several Hawaii District teachers were honored for their contributions to education, among them Laurie Ann O’Brien of Keaau High School.
