Historic WWII Japanese flag to be donated to National Park Service | KHON2

The flag once flew over the ship where a Japanese admiral gave the order to attack Pearl Harbor.

The historic flag once flew on the Japanese Battleship Nagato where Admiral Isoroku Yamamoto gave the order to attack Pearl Harbor on 07 December 1941.

The flag was taken from the Nagato when it entered Tokyo Bay in August 1945.  Seaman Robert Hartman found the flag and kept it in his family until his death in 1999.  His daughter later presented the flag to the National Park Service.
