A highly anticipated rocket launch failed to make it into space Tuesday evening.

According to the U.S. Air Force, the rocket failed shortly after take off from the Pacific Missile Range Facility at Barking Sands, Kauai on Tuesday afternoon.
The rocket was part of a mission called ORS-4. On board was a satellite designed and built by UH-Manoa students and faculty. The satellite was designed to perform thermal imaging of the Earth and volcanoes.
