Comment:

You would think with all the travel warnings issued by the Centers for Disease Control that people would be careful in choosing a trip to Latin America, South America, the South Pacific, or other tropical areas susceptible to the disease.  Apparently, this wasn’t the case with this unfortunate traveler.

While initial lab tests “were inconclusive”, further testing “pointed to a high probability of Zika.”  New scientific evidence suggests that “the Zika virus can be transmitted through sexual contact if a man has become infected.”

The Zika virus has been implicated in a condition known as microcephaly, which causes severe brain damage in newborns.  People should take warnings from the United Nations and the CDC seriously, especially women who may become pregnant during their travels.

Common sense seems to elude some people.
