Kauai’s Bethany Hamilton and shark survivor turned in a near perfect performance today at the Fiji Women’s Pro at Cloudbank.  Hamilton, who lost an arm to a shark on Kauai when she was a teenager, swept past Australia’s Tyler Wright and Stephanie Gilmore to advance to the quarterfinal round of the WSL (World Surfing League) competition.  Hamilton has been called one of the “world’s most powerful and inspiring surfers.”  Congratulations and good luck in the upcoming competition.
