The number of confirmed dengue fever cases on Hawaii Island has reached 215.  In light of the continuing spread of this mosquito-borne infection, the Hawaii Department of Health will hold weekly meetings in Hilo and Kailua-Kona to bring the community up to date on the latest developments to control the serious flu-like illness.  In Hilo, the meetings will be held every Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in the State Office Building on Aupuni Street. The meetings will be held the same day and time at the West Hawaii Civic Center on Ane Keohokalole Highway in Kailua-Kona.  Beginning Tuesday, 19 January 2016, the dengue fever briefings will be held at Yano Hall in Captain Cook.  All meetings are open to the public.
