Hawaii police suspect foul play following the discovery of a badly decomposed body Saturday near Beach Road off Makuu Drive in Hawaiian Paradise Park. Lt. Greg Esteban of the Hawaii Police Department’s Hilo Criminal Investigations Section told “Hawaii Tribune-Herald” reporter John Burnett that the advanced state of decomposition is making it difficult to determine the identity and sex of the body. An autopsy is set for today, Tuesday, 26 January 2016 to determine the exact cause of death. Police haven’t said if the unidentified remains are those of 59-year-old Barton Bumatay, a HPP man who hasn’t been seen since New Year‘s Eve. Police believe he disappeared “under suspicious circumstances.” Aloha, Russ.
